Well, in that they are brushed aside, it’s because no one really brings up said issues except as a stick to beat the ace community with because they simply don’t like it. So, yeah, much of what you said. And for what it’s worth, the asexual communities are a) not monolithic and b) call each other out on these issues a fairly regular basis, which seems to go unnoticed.

For example, I remember, maybe a month back, a gay man made a post about how asexual love was more ~pure~, and a bunch of aces pointed out that this was ridiculous, yet we still got criticized for promoting asexual supremacy or something even though the post was made by someone who wasn’t even ace.
