Good reply.
Demisexuality doesn’t even fall outside the dominant sexual paradigm! It’s a pretty common way to experience attraction, it’s just that a lot of people don’t use the term in favor of “I have a low sex drive” or “I’m not into casual sex” or “I don’t really think strangers are hot, just my boyfriend” etc. (I’m not saying that demisexuality is synonymous with any of these things, just that people who could be calling themselves demisexual may find a different way to talk about their individual situations.)
Actually, I believe demisexuality does fall outside the dominant sexual paradigm, and I wrote about why that phrase irritates me so much this morning.
